| Update time. Well, it has been almost a year since I last posted something. I am so on top of things. Jess is leaving me again for the summer (she is going to New York City to work at some hot shot law firm), so that means that I might get bored and update this blog again. Of course I am sure that it is not read by anyone so it doesn't really matter. I quit my job at the newspaper, because I HATED it. I am not working at a bank here in town as a loan operations officer. I like it. It is certainly not what this Letters major with Social Studies teaching certification thought he would be doing. Oh well, maybe I should have paid attention in math class, ha. No, I am good at math, I just hate it, wait, that is not good for me and this job. I actually like it, though sometimes I get bored. The people are crazy, we are always playing jokes on each other, like today somebody replaced a pic of me and jess with one of two warthogs humping. So it goes. We are on a heath kick right now, and hopefully for the rest of our lives. We are trying not to eat fast food, or only Subway or Jimmy John's if we have to. We are also rotating lifting weights or run/walking every day. We have only done this for a week, but I have lost 5 pounds and I know that Jess lost weight too. That is a good thing, and we feel better too. It is spring here in Champaign, finally. Spring is when I really miss OU, because the UofI is no where near as pretty in the spring. I am going to get to go back, and hopefully see some good friends, when we head to Will's wedding in May. It will be crazy though because we will have to drive to St. Louis Saturday, hop a plane, drive from Tulsa to the wedding, and then we leave for New York and Champaign from Tulsa. That is enough for now. Peace out. | | |
| Well, I made a mistake. I rented the first two discs of the first season of Lost. I have heard good things and I have nothing better to do, but not I am hooked. I watched four episodes Thursday night and four on Friday night, which isn't as bad as it seems because it amounts to about the same amount of time as a movie. Still, I am anxious now to get the next disc. Good stuff. Too bad Jess isn't here to watch them with me, not that she would have time even if she were here. Anyone else have a show that they really like that they think I should rent? I have five free rentals a week from Blockbuster, Netflix and Blockbuster Online for the month, so I can pretty much get tons of stuff.
I took Barrister to dog training class this morning (I really wanted to sleep in, but the pup needs some fun too). He is repeating the first grade. We already took this class, but are taking it again just so that he can get some more socialization with other dogs and other people. Since he has taken this class before though, he already knew all of the tricks, so he looked like Mr. Stud out there showing up all of the other dogs. I failed to mention his head start. | | |
| Today was our one year wedding anniversary. Too bad we were not able to celebrate it together. I did have a glass of champagne on the phone while Jess and her family did the same. Here is to 78 more great years to come. | | |
| Well, today was boring. I had HR stuff for about two hours and then went over a bunch of procedural stuff for the rest of the day. I will be in training for the entire week, so I won't find out if I actually like the job until next week. I did find out that I have Memorial Day off though, which is good. Jessica seemed to like her first day at the externship. Other than that there is really nothing else to report. I thought that I would have a lot to say after my first day, but not so much. | | |
| I remember when I was living in the dorms with Scott Hopper my freshman year I tried to type on his laptop. Something that I had never done. I decided that I hated laptops, you can't type on the damn things. Then, I got one my senior year. I just hooked up Jessica's keyboard at her desk to my laptop through the USB, yeah, I can't type on the damn thing worth a shit. I can pump out like 65 words a minute on the lappy now though. I guess it is all what you are used too, but this thing feels clunky.
Jessica left for her externship in Tampa today. I drove her to the airport in St. Louis, so I was traveling just as long as she was today. As usual, she was really sad before she left, including the days leading up to the departure, and as usual I was not because it did not really seem like she was leaving until I dropped her off at the airport and left her to fly away. I got really sad then, as I usually do. It is probably better that I am the way that I am, because if I got really sad in front of Jess it would make her that much worse.
When I got home I watched the Preakness, felt bad for the horse, hope they don't have to put it down. There was a guy on a message board that I frequent that was talking about making it glue, people suck.
I also cleaned a bunch. I cleaned the whole upstairs. It is easier to clean when Jess isn't here because I have nothing else to do. That and I know that she won't be needing anything that is out so I know I can put it away.
I start my new job on Monday. I currently have three jobs, one with East Central Communications, one with Tom John PE and one with Blockbuster. That is a lot of jobs. I will let everyone know how my first day at the real job goes on Monday.
